Merchants Guide

Merchants are one of the systems Rival Ducks named on the Roblox page, in the same breath as exploration and the upgrade tree. They are how Prism becomes runes, potions, and food — the grammar of a build. They are not a player auction house. They are not a place to dump the entire RELEASE wallet because a stock icon pulsed.

This page is the shopping protocol. Rankings for what you should be shopping for live on runes, potions, and food.

Find the stall

  1. Learn the interact prompt in controls. VFX hide floor prompts; tilt the camera.
  2. Check the plaza once.
  3. Walk a single exploration loop. Village-deck art is a strong hint that vendors live in daylight spaces, not only in the roll lobby.
  4. If you still find nobody, you are not underleveled — you missed a path. Try again after a weekly update in case a stall was gated.

Do not buy a teleport script to find a shop. Eight-player maps are walkable.

The shopping list rule

Before you open a merchant, write (mentally is fine):

  • One food for uptime
  • One rune that sockets on this week’s job
  • Zero or one potion with a named moment

If the stall has none of those, close it. Prism kept is Prism you can still put into a clear tree node. Impulse stock is how launch-week accounts own six glowing snacks and no recipe.

Prism priority versus the tree

Merchants win when they complete a composition test you are currently failing. The tree wins when a node sentence is clear and permanent. Tickets lose to both. If you are unsure, hold. Luck-relief can print currency during a dry streak; a bad purchase cannot be unprinted.

Restocks and weekly cadence

Expect merchant stock to move with weekly content and harder with biweekly gameplay patches. That is a reason to keep a buffer of Prism, not a reason to snipe everything “in case it vanishes.” Vanishing stock is annoying. Emptying the wallet is worse.

When a patch adds a new stall, walk there once as your session job. Do not rebuild the whole account in the new doorway.

What merchants are not

  • Not a place to redeem codes. That is >. How to redeem.
  • Not the Rival Ducks group gift. Group rewards.
  • Not other players. If someone is selling “S-tier runes” in chat, they are scamming or confused.
  • Not required on minute one. Getting started still starts with codes, HUD, and a few rolls.

Bring a list. Buy the list. Walk away. That is the whole merchant skill.

How to write the three-line list

Steal the lines from the composition test:

  1. Food that stays on while I walk
  2. Rune that still makes sense if Friday adds a character
  3. Potion with a named moment (lucky roll or cavern), or blank if I already have one

If you cannot fill line 1, your job today is not shopping — it is identifying food in the mix-in tiers. Buying a mystery snack to “have something” is how B-tier glow wins.

Sold out and rotating stock

Launch shops rotate. Sold out does not mean you failed. It means you keep Prism for the tree or for tomorrow’s stall. Standing in front of an empty vendor refreshing is not exploration. Walk the loop. Come back after a weekly note if the stall was event-gated.

If chat claims a merchant sells lucky tickets, verify in the UI. Codes and relief are the documented ticket sources today. A shop that secretly sells gacha currency would be a patch note, not a plaza rumor.

Robux shops

Free to play is the default. If a Robux tray sits next to a Prism stall, read the tray twice. Launch FOMO packs are priced for people who skipped RELEASE. You already have tickets. Buy mix-ins with Prism first. If you still want Robux, wait one biweekly patch so you can see whether the pack’s job still exists.

Merchants are a list interface. Treat them like a grocery run, not like a casino.
