Character Tier List

Project: Aura launched with 42+ hand-crafted characters, each promised custom animations, VFX, and sound. That is a lot of identity and not a lot of public datamine. This page ranks roles so you can sort a drop on day one without waiting for a leaked spreadsheet. When a name is verified in-game, it belongs under the matching letter, not in a new mythology.

For mix-ins, use runes, potions, and food. For how roles snap to a recipe, use build crafting. This page is only the body.

S-tier jobs — portable

Flexible carry. A character who still makes sense if next week’s drop is louder. Look for readable VFX (you can tell what they are doing in an 8-player shard) and sockets that accept common runes.

Exploration mule. Movement, camera-friendly silhouette, food that stays on while you walk the map. The village-deck and cavern art imply you are meant to leave the plaza. A carry who dies in a hallway is not S.

Mix-in friendly. Bodies that do not brick if you swap one rune. Combinatorial design is the studio pitch. Characters that demand a unique potion you cannot find yet are not portable.

S-tier is “I can still play this after Friday’s content.” It is not “rarest sparkle.”

A-tier jobs — specialists

Plaza showcase. Incredible animation, weak grammar. Fine if you already passed the composition test with food and runes. Expensive if this is your only drop.

Single-loop monster. Deletes one system (rolling looks faster, merchant prices feel nicer, tree nodes look cheaper) and does nothing for the others. A-tier if that loop is your session job. B-tier if you needed a generalist.

Lucky-roll magnet. If you only ever see this job after a lucky ticket, treat it as a specialist you aimed at, not as proof the whole roster is cooked.

B-tier jobs — collection

Museum pieces. You keep them in the collection because the sound design slaps. You do not pump Prism into them until a patch says they gained a loop.

Duplicate bodies. Until a dismantle or merge system is documented, duplicates are collection. Do not assume a secret craft. Do not vendor in a panic either — luck-relief may have paid you that duplicate as the floor, not as an insult.

C-tier behavior — not characters, habits

There is no honest C-tier character list without names. There is C-tier play:

  • Spending all five lucky rolls because a stranger in your 8-player server flexed.
  • Ranking a character S because the key art looks like an anime you like. (The art is anime-inspired. That is not a drop table.)
  • Copying a list from AURA., Aura Craft, or Aura Battles.
  • Ignoring mix-ins and calling the body the whole build.

If your session was C-tier, the character is not the problem.

How to slot a new drop in 60 seconds

  1. What job did I name this week?
  2. Does this body do that job, a different job, or no job I can see?
  3. Can I feed it with current runes/food?
  4. If yes, equip and stop rolling. If no, bag it and continue with standard tickets only.
  5. If it is the job I named, I may spend one lucky roll later to refine, not the stack.

When names arrive

After the roster is commonly verified (Discord indexes, in-game compendium, patch notes on Updates), this page will add named rows under S/A/B. We will not add 42 placeholder names to look complete. Completeness without truth is how wikis rot on launch week.

Until then, rank the drop you have, spend Prism on the tree that supports its job, and let weekly content try — and fail — to make you reroll the account.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Project: Aura players on Roblox.

Who is the best character in Project: Aura?

The most portable job you can feed with mix-ins. There is no official named #1 on the Roblox page.

Are the key-art fighters the legendaries?

They are marketing. Do not treat thumbnail silhouettes as a rarity table.

Should I reroll a B-tier body?

Bag it. Mix-ins and weekly patches can promote a job. Panic rerolls are C-tier habits.

Where do I see all characters I own?

In-game collection, with a wiki companion on players / characters.

Do lucky rolls guarantee S-tier jobs?

No. They bias. Luck-relief is the floor. Lucky tickets aim; they do not print a god.
